Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park
A new provincial park was created as a centennial legacy and named in memory of the Honourable Lois E. Hole, Alberta's former lieutenant governor.

The Edmonton Eskimos and Saskatchewan Roughriders turned up the heat on their decades-old rivalry with the Centennial Gridiron Gridiron Challenge.

Celebrate Alberta Teams

Centennial Education Savings Plan
This plan will contribute $500 towards a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) for every Alberta child born or adopted in 2005 and after.

Commemorative Medallion
Alberta issued a series of four special centennial medallions in 2005.

Centennial Quarter
The Royal Canadian Mint has circulated 20 million Alberta Centennial coins this summer. Albertans cast more than 20,000 votes to select a design for the coin.

Centennial Stamp
On July 21, Canada Post issued a new Canadian postage stamp to celebrate the province’s 100th anniversary.

Birth & Marriage Certificates
All Albertans born or married in 2005 will receive a special commemorative birth or marriage certificate.

Salute to Sport
Special awards have been established to honour and celebrate 100 Albertans who have made outstanding contributions to the development of sport and recreation in Alberta over the past century.

Century Farm & Ranch Award
A special edition of the Century Farm and Ranch Award is recognizing Alberta farm families that are celebrating their 100th anniversary along with the province of Alberta.

Year of the Veteran
This year is the national Year of the Veteran. Throughout 2005, Canadians will celebrate, honour, remember, and teach our youth about the contributions and sacrifice of our veterans.

Human Rights Scholarship
In recognition of Alberta’s Centennial, an award of $10,000 will be made annually to a graduate student attending school in Alberta whose area of study will contribute to the advancement of human rights, cultural diversity and multiculturalism.

CFL Football Jersey Promotion
Players on Alberta’s the Edmonton Eskimos and the Calgary Stampeders wore the Alberta 2005 Centennial crest on both their home and away jerseys.
