Singing Alberta's Praises

A Calgary-based country music crooner is currently on a unique tour across Alberta to celebrate our province's 100th birthday.

Matt Masters has compiled a 20-40 minute show that features songs and stories from each of Alberta's 10 decades.

Born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Matt Masters has been playing guitar and writing songs since he was 15-years old.To date, Matt has performed in five provinces, and two other countries. He has had the opportunity to play music along side a number of fine performers, including bluesmen, Jeff Healey and Madagascar Slim, roots sensations, Jenny Whiteley and Washboad Hank, psycobilly grandaddies Ray Condo and Reverend Horton Heat, and country all stars, Melody Ranch and the Corn Sisters.

You can follow Matt's travels as he brings the province's musical heritage to life with his online journals and to also find if he'll be singing in a community near you.
